At Brightland, our journey begins with listening to the soil and the sun. And after observing the patterns of the 2018 Harvest year, our guides have made themselves clear - and we are responding accordingly.
After an unusually warm winter and a spring freeze, our inaugural olives - the Arbequina and Arbosana - were slow to bloom compared to some of their California peers. And so, to ensure the best tasting olive oils, we have decided to welcome two new varietals for our 2019 editions of ALIVE and AWAKE.
AWAKE will feature California’s Coratina olive - bright with floral notes and a bit more pungency. ALIVE will be a blend of Coratina and California's Frantoio - smooth with notes of pear. Both will retain the fundamental characteristics of our first editions: green and grassy, early harvest, with a high smoke point. AWAKE will compliment cozy dishes, and ALIVE vibrant fare.
And, most importantly, they taste phenomenal.
