Next up, we are featuring the HEART:


1. Thanks to powerful antioxidants like polyphenols, extra virgin olive oil is considered a cardiovascular protector. Diets high in extra virgin olive oil are associated with a lower incidence of cardiovascular disease.


2. Extra virgin olive oil is made up of mostly monounsaturated fatty acids, the most important of which is called oleic acid. Oleic acid is known to be extremely heart-healthy and capable of fighting free radical damage, which harms and ages the body over time.


3. Extra virgin olive oil is also beneficial for lowering high blood pressure because it keeps arteries dilated and clear.


4. One study displayed that just four tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil a day minimized the need for blood pressure medication in participants.
