In honor of our ROSEBUD X BRIGHTLAND recipes, we had a chance to chat with Alexis Rosenbaum, the founder and CEO of Rosebud CBD. Born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio, Alexis now resides with her husband and two pups in West Orange, NJ. Read on for her wonderful interview and why you shouldn't be scared to try CBD!

Q&A with Alexis

Brightland: What is your favorite way to unwind at home?

Alexis: I love to get into something comfortable, usually my robe, and sit outside on my front porch to listen to the wind and just really disconnect. I am a huge fan of daily walks - leave your phone at home and just go for a walk. Always having a little cannabis at hand helps.

Brightland: What does living in a golden state mean to you?

Alexis: Living in a golden state feels a lot like the perfect fall day - the sun is still warm, but theres a crisp in the air. You can smell the shift beginning to happen and you're sort of in this euphoric state of wanting both a hot and iced cup of coffee.

Brightland: What is your favorite independent magazine to feel inspired by + learn from?

Alexis: I love reading Broccoli magazine. It's an interesting read where art, culture, and people come together over a common love and appreciation for weed.

Brightland: What is your favorite item in your house? What touches make your house your home?

Alexis: We are currently remodeling a 1950's ranch and I can't wait to pull it all together. I really love my house plants - they remind me of my mom and make my house feel like home. All of my pipes are handmade or designed by some really incredible women in weed. I love having them on display in my home.

Brightland: If you had all the time in the world, what meal would you cook for yourself on a Sunday night?

Alexis: I spent a year vegan and loved making beet and black bean burgers from Minimalist Baker with homemade french fries. Caramelized onions to top the burger with a little chipotle mayo - YUM!

Brightland: What 3 tips/pieces of advice do you have for those who are new to CBD and want to try it for the first time.

1. Start low and slow with your dose and strength. A lot of people think more is better, CBD is the opposite. Whatever your body does not need it flushes out.

2. Maintain a regular routine using CBD almost daily for 2-3 weeks before making any dose or strength adjustments.

3. Don't be afraid to use different strengths for different aliments - I love to keep our 350mg with me during the day, the 700mg for that time of the month, and the 1000mg for migraines and trouble sleeping.

CBD is not a cure all - while it may have promising benefits, we really need to consider the whole picture for the best results.
