Plum Margarita

Bright, juicy plum meets the smoky-sweet heat of Ember in this late-summer twist on a classic margarita. Tart, layered, and just a little spicy, it’s made for golden hour.

Ingredients

For the shrub:

  • 1 cup of plum wedges
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup Brightland Ember Ancho Chili Vinegar
  • ½ cup Apple cider vinegar

For the margarita:

  • 1.5 oz tequila
  • 1.5 oz plum shrub 
  • .5 oz Cointreau 
  • .75 oz lime juice
  • Plum garnish

Instructions

  1. In a jar, add plum and sugar, shake well then top with both vinegars. Cover and let sit in the fridge for at least 48 hours. 
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, plum shrub,and lime juice. 
  3. Prep your chilled cocktail glass with a chili rim. Add ice, shake well, and strain over ice. Finish with a plum slice.
