Will you ensure there is no pricing included in the gift package?
Absolutely - we will not include a receipt or any kind of pricing in the gift package.

My city's temperatures regularly get above 85 degrees.
Will this affect my oil?
We try to mitigate this issue as much as possible on our end, by shipping all orders via Priority Mail, so that they arrive within 2-3 days and don't spend much time in hot trucks. However, there is always a bit of a risk in extreme temperatures, so we would recommend selecting Priority Mail Express, 1 Business Day Shipping when you checkout as an option, to be safe! We also recommend bringing your delivered package inside immediately, or having it delivered to an office location where it will be left indoors. That way, your order will not sit out in the heat once it is delivered.
How do you ship?
We offer USPS Priority Mail and USPS Priority Mail Express options at checkout. We offer free USPS Priority Mail shipping on orders over $60. Please allow 1-3 business days to process orders.Please note that USPS Priority Mail is a standard service, and your delivery could take longer than what is calculated at checkout.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
Yes, you may choose an expedited shipping option in your checkout options.
Do you offer international shipping?
We don’t ship internationally just yet, but stay tuned.
How will I know my order has shipped?

If I have a subscription to Brightland, may I move or delay my shipment date if I am traveling/out of town for another reason?
Yes, absolutely; please email us at email@example.com so that we can help you with this. Subscribers can move shipment dates a maximum of two times. Brightland Subscribers may cancel their subscription at any point in time, by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. A suggested note: "Hi, I would like to cancel my Brightland subscription." Returns and Exchanges
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY?
To protect our community's health amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, we are suspending all returns and exchanges of unopened bottles. This means that all orders placed are considered final sale. WHAT IF MY PRODUCT GETS LOST?
Brightland is not responsible for lost or stolen items once declared 'Delivered' by the delivery service.
MY OIL DIDN’T ARRIVE WHEN IT SAID IT WOULD...WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Once your package leaves Brightland’s warehouse/fulfillment center until it is delivered to your address, shipping liabilities are with USPS or FedEx. Missing package claims must be filed by the customer. Once the package is marked delivered by USPS or FedEx, packages become the customer’s responsibility, and Brightland is not responsible for missing packages. You may file a missing package claim with USPS here and with FedEx here.
I FEEL A SHARP, PEPPERY SENSATION AT THE BACK OF MY THROAT AFTER I SWALLOW THE BRIGHTLAND OIL - WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
That sharp, peppery sensation at the back of your throat is one of the best indications of Brightland’s commitment to quality, and the high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory value in its oils. Additionally, the polyphenols in olive oil that contribute to a sharp taste and resistance to oxidation. These polyphenols are strong antioxidants and have been shown to provide a host of beneficial effects from healing sunburn to lowering cholesterol, blood pressure, and risk of coronary disease. Additionally, oleocanthal, a natural polyphenolic anti-inflammatory agent uniquely found in extra virgin olive oil, functions much the same way that ibuprofen, an over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) does. This receptor is spatially located at the back of the throat, which is exactly where the distinctive sting from high quality olive oil is felt. This unique sensation and the accompanying cough or clearing of the throat are regarded among connoisseurs as indicators of high quality olive oil.
MY OLIVE OIL TASTES BITTER/PUNGENT! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Bitterness and pungency are actually positive terms in the authentic extra virgin olive oil world! A bitter/sharp taste generally indicates that the olives were harvested early, making the oil extra green + grassy tasting. The sharp taste at the back of your throat that you might feel is an indicator of the high polyphenol count of the oil, which we address fully in the question below!

All of Brightland’s products are 100% plant-based, vegan, gluten free and cruelty-free.
IS BRIGHTLAND CERTIFIED ORGANIC?
Brightland olive oil is milled in a certified organic mill, and is stored in a certified organic storage room. Brightland's farm partner is committed to organic practices and uses zero pesticides.
WHERE IS BRIGHTLAND EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL PRODUCED?
100% USA made: Brightland olive oil comes from the golden state of California in the Central Coast and Valley.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO STORE MY BRIGHTLAND BOTTLES?
All Brightland bottles are coated with UV-protectant matte coating, so you can keep your bottle on your kitchen counter or at your table and don’t have to hide it away in a cupboard. We highly recommend closing the top when you’re not using the oil.
WHAT IS THE SMOKE POINT FOR BRIGHTLAND EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL?
Both Brightland extra virgin olive oils’ smoke points are 410 degrees at the time of harvest (November 2019). There is a common misconception that extra virgin olive oil has a low smoke point - however, high quality extra virgin olive oil can have a smoke point up to 420 degrees, which is more than enough when cooking with EVOO. One important thing to remember is that change will occur with time: all extra virgin olive oil begins to degrade, and so the smoke point will begin to lower gradually over time.

HOW SHOULD I USE BRIGHTLAND AWAKE VS. BRIGHTLAND ALIVE IN MY KITCHEN?
AWAKE: For cozy days and slow nights. When you’re feeling like making some soups, pastas, a hearty stew, want to roast some meat, fish or veggies, we recommend using AWAKE.
ALIVE: For verve and vibrancy. When you’re in the mood for a salad, want to whip together a dressing or marinade, or want to sautee greens like kale or spinach, we recommend ALIVE.
ARE BRIGHTLAND OLIVE OILS A COOKING OIL OR A FINISHING OIL?
ARE THE WHITE BOTTLES RECYCLABLE?
The UV-protected coated bottles are recyclable. Our UV-protected coated bottles are environmentally friendly and virtually pollution-free. Unlike typical liquid paints, the UV-protected coating process doesn't use solvents and doesn't release organic compounds into the atmosphere. You can recycle our bottles with certainty that they are not damaging the environment.
HOW CAN I USE BRIGHTLAND IN MY BEAUTY/WELLNESS ROUTINE?
There are a number of wonderful beauty and wellness use cases for Brightland that our customers have shared with us, including: take eye makeup off, moisturize legs and arms, clean makeup brushes, heal chapped lips, fix ragged cuticles, get a smooth shave.
HOW LONG DOES BRIGHTLAND OLIVE OIL LAST?
If stored properly, a bottle of Brightland should last for 6 months after opening.
WHEN DOES MY OLIVE OIL EXPIRE?
If you purchase Brightland after November 2019:
Harvest and Milling will occur November 2019
Best By: April 2021
We also generally recommend that once you open your Brightland bottle, you consume it within 3-4 months so that it is in its freshest state.
