To celebrate the launch of our Pizza Oil, we're sharing the recipe for a classic pizza pie with a delicious twist.

The key? Liberal drizzles of Brightland Pizza Oil. This recipe is brought to you by Cody Splane, pizza enthusiast and ambassador for Ooni, a portable pizza oven company.

Ingredients

  • 12-inch round of pizza dough, stretched
  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 3 ounces fresh mozzarella
  • 1 pinch flaky salt
  • 4 to 5 basil leaves
  • Liberal drizzle of Brightland Pizza Oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your pizza oven or place a pizza stone (or steel) on the middle rack of your oven and preheat on its 550F. Let it heat for 30 mins to an hour.
  2. Spoon the tomato sauce into the center of your stretched pizza dough and use the back of the spoon to spread it evenly across the surface being sure to leave 1⁄2 inch of untouched dough around the edges.
  3. Tear your fresh mozzarella into large pieces and place evenly across the tomato sauce, sprinkle your pinch of salt over the pie, toss your basil leaves on top, and liberally drizzle your Pizza Oil over the pie.
  4. Using a pizza peel, pick up your pie and launch it into your preheated pizza oven or onto your pizza stone/steel. Bake until the crust is golden brown delicious and the cheese is sufficiently melted, approximately 2-3 minutes in your pizza oven or 6 to 8 minutes in your home oven. Enjoy!
